Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Our long-time member, Judy Angyalfy will be facilitating this program. Series begins January 5, 2019 and includes 9 weeks of Saturdays. Week 1 will be a 90 minute Orientation and if at that time any participant chooses not to participate a full refund will be allowed. Weeks 2-9 will occur from 3-5:30pm every Saturday thereafter. On Friday, February 22nd, an all-day silent retreat will take place at Discovery Yoga Center.
MBSR is the curriculum developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., for the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979. Its primary intention is to create a structured pathway to relieve suffering and increase well-being for people facing a host of challenges arising from demands and stressors inherent in everyday lives of human beings. Scientific-research strongly supports the efficacy of MBSR as an effective clinical approach that can be utilized by participants beyond program completion.
