    The Beginning

    From Couch to Coach…..

At almost 300 pounds most of my life was spent on the couch or wishing I was back on the couch, I blissfully unaware that anything was missing from my life.

On March 13, 2020 I walked into Anastasia Fitness and my entire outlook on life changed.   EVERYONE in the gym welcomed me.  Not only me, but EVERYONE that walked in the door and knew all of us by name.  Saying encouraging, loving and supporting things to each other regularly.  The culture, community and people are somethings I have never experienced before and is what kept me coming back even on the days I wasn’t feeling it.  Within the first year not only I had lost over 70 pounds, I gained lifelong friends and began living a life that was just an abstract concept to me.

    The Journey to Coach

In September 2023,  I set a goal to become a  StrongFirst (The School of Strength) certified instructor.   HUGE shout out to Kevin, who worked hard to come up with a training schedule and keep me on track.  He knew of  my ability and strength way before I was able to see it.  Every person in our gym community (members and staff) helped to prepare me for this adventure (physically and emotionally). In April, 2024, Coach JJ and I traveled to Chicago for training and testing.  Passing the course has been one of the proudest moments of my life. Now,  to be listed among the most elite and incredible training team around is another proud moment.   I have cried, laughed, bled, crumbled and rebuilt myself in this gym and with the support and love of this community.  I am beyond excited to give back and help our members reach their goals.
