Phase 3

We plan our work schedule, our meals, how we are going to get everything done today.

Take the thinking out of your workout and let the fitness geeks at Thrive do the deep dives on the programming.

Welcome to Phase 3, 2023. Let us talk a bit about the ThriveFit full-body program versus a split part body exercise program relative to soreness.

Two common causes of soreness are overworking a body part and implementing a new movement.

  • Working one body part at a time, repeatedly causes soreness. Rather than completing 9 different movements working the shoulder for shoulder day, in ThriveFit, the shoulder work may be rotated in at 3 different times throughout the workout. The rest of the workout is simultaneously working the lower body and core. Functional full body movements are the solution for the person who trains 2-3 days a week. It allows a balance and rotation of work to the major muscle groups.

  • Mixing in a new movement equals soreness. Coax the body into change over time. In ThriveFit, movements are cycled throughout each Phase with variations but few radically new movements to minimize soreness. Functional full body training is best done with a coach to ensure safe progression. With every type of training, expect 8-10 weeks to see a difference.

Any coach can smoke you, but excessive soreness is counterproductive, limiting your normal caloric burn on your non-training days. ThriveFit doesn’t interrupt our other waking hours. Life doesn’t revolve around workouts, it’s the caffeine in our coffee, the crispness of our pillowcase, it makes the other hours of the week so much sweeter.
