5 Healthy Habits to start the New Year
A healthy, active and sustainable lifestyle needs a strong foundation. Over the next few weeks Anastasia Fitness will suggest some guidelines that will educate and inform our members of 5 healthy lifestyle choices and habits that will start you off on the right foot in 2020. These choices are not resolutions that only stick for a few weeks but rather a new way to program your way of thinking about what it means to be healthy. They don’t require drastic changes or unrealistic expectations but rather a better more sustainable way of thinking about a healthier way of living in the New Year and beyond.
As a coach I see many of my clients make various body composition and performance improvements. However, our community at Anastasia Fitness is larger than the people I work with on a daily basis. Our members continue to grind it out, show up and perform within their scope. Some see improvements and some are simply stuck in neutral. These Five Healthy Habits are designed to help our members rethink the way they approach fitness and wellbeing to feel better, get stronger and get out of Neutral. The New Years dietary choices, online exercise videos and group exercise classes we commit to are a really good healthy choice. The great thing about these methods is that they work. In fact, they work very well…until they don’t.
This can be very frustrating and stressful for people, and I can sympathize. When your diet and exercise plan stops working, or are just simply unsustainable, it’s time to lean into some basic principles. It’s easy to get caught up in the details, so what happens, take a step back and check-in with the basics: Sleep, Stress, Management, Hydration, Food Hygiene, and Movement are the foundations of health. Over the next few weeks we will take a look at each of these principles and provide some sound advice and recommendations that are easy, sustainable and more importantly work.
Next week we will look into the first of our Five Healthy Habits Sleep. Keep an eye out, give it a read and we welcome any feedback or questions.
Thanks
