New study shows standing beats sitting
Reported in the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport, standing improves insulin sensitivity when compared to sitting. Insulin sensitivity is a requirement for proper metabolic function. When insulin sensitivity is lost and insulin resistance occurs, the host of chronic sickness materializes. There has been recent mention that “sitting is the new smoking”. Here a study shows that literally by standing more often you can improve your health. By just standing there you can make a difference with your health. Consider taking it a step further with your exercise. You can sit on a machine or perform exercises standing, why not choose to stand.
